With over 25 years of experience engaging community from a broad spectrum of ages and backgrounds, we offer a diverse range of workshops and presentations designed to inspire and empower individuals.
WORKSHOPS
Workshops provide a unique platform for participants to explore social and academic issues through the transformative power of art, while also connecting to educational curriculum. CRP's workshops can take place in a variety of settings, from classrooms and community centers to school walls and public spaces. Each workshop is tailored to suit the specific needs and interests of the participants, ensuring that the experience is both engaging and meaningful.
Examples include:
Giving a lecture + hands on spray paint sessiosn at the Chabot College (Berkeley, CA)
Leading a team building workshop at companies such as Iqvia, Scopely, Hunington Bank and Workday.com. This includes aerosol art history presentation with interactive community component.
PRESENTATIONS
CRP’s slideshow presentation showcases the work of CRP artists in communities around the globe. These presentations can also feature award-winning documentaries, "Alice Street" and "AscenDance," about CRP projects that highlight the transformative power of art in addressing social challenges and inspiring positive change.
MURAL TOURS
We organize Oakland mural tours which provide participants with an opportunity to explore and appreciate the vibrant street art and murals that adorn various neighborhoods. These tours offer a unique perspective on the role of art in shaping public spaces and fostering community identity. Both walking and bus tours are available.
HANDS-ON INTENSIVES
For those seeking a more in-depth experience than a one day workshop, CRP offers extended multi-week classes. These classes immerse students in the design and creation of hands-on murals, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of the artistic process and the impact of public art on communities.
Examples of this includes:
Semester long biweekly classes at Fremont High School (Oakland, CA) where students painted portraits of their community.
LECTURES
CRP offers lectures, both online and in-person for groups, providing a convenient and accessible way for individuals to engage with CRP's programs and resources from anywhere in the world. These lectures cover a wide range of topics related to art, social justice, and public art-policy, and are tailored to the needs of the participants.
